Frequently Asked Questions

1. When are the clinics? Check the Calendar for updates, and the camps page to see when camps are and what kind is available.

2. Where will we be meeting? Either in Clemson, SC at Twelve Mile Recreation area or a location decided by the a group if a group signs up together. Check Camp Info for directions.

3. How much money will it cost? $85 per day, $100 per hour private lesson, $500 youth day

4. What are the ages of participants?   We take students ages 8-18. Private lessons are available for any aged person.

5. What is the instructor to participant ratio? We prefer 1 instructor to 3 students. 2 instructors to 6 students on the boat.

6. How much instruction time will I get on the water?   Each student receives 30 minutes of individual ride time behind the boat in the morning, and another 30 minute set after lunch.   The time not in the water, you will be watching other students ride, learn from them, and having fun being in the boat. Also, during the overnight camps their will be on-land training.

7. What is a typical day like? Students arrive at the camp location at 9:00 am to get checked in.   Once everyone is in the boats, one instructor will get the day started by going over all the different safety issues.   Then each of the 5 students will get 30 minutes of personal instruction time in the water. After that, there is a 30-minute break for lunch.   After lunch, the schedule resumes with each student getting another 30 minute set.   Pick up is at 5:00 p.m.

8. What if I get hurt? The instructors have been instructed and are certified in proper CPR practices and First Aid.  A parent/guardian will also be contacted. Each person uses their own insurance.

9. How do I sign up? There are three ways to sign up and register for wakeboard clinics. 1- contact us through email.   2 - Sign up online 3 -register by calling Jordan Mitchell and seeing if one of the open dates is still available.   You can register for as many or as few days as you would like (and are available).

10. Do I have to sign a waiver? Yes, each person getting on the boat must sign the waiver, which must be signed by their parents.

11. Is there going to be food? We provide only water for the day camp.   You must provide lunch, preferably in a cooler for that day. Keep in mind that eating is not allowed on the boats, so do not pack for snacking- just lunch. For the Weekend and Week long, all food will be provided.

12. What do I need to bring? Swim suit, towel, sweatshirt if you think you will need it, your own gear if you have it, sun screen, enthusiasm, and perseverance.

13. Can my parents come on the boat and watch? No, the space is limited on the boat for participants only.

14. Are there private lessons, and how do they work? Yes, It is $100 per hour behind our boat or $85 behind your boat. You can sign up by contacting Jordan Mitchell, and an instructor will get back in touch with you on an open day (outside of the camp days).   The lessons are subject to the availability of the instructor and your schedule. The possibility of getting a lesson greatly increases if you have your own boat you would like to be taught behind. If not we will do our best to get an open day for you with our boat.
